Mac OS Server Support
Prior to Mac OS X version 10.7, Mac OS X Server was a separate operating system from OS X. However, Apple no longer manufactures or supports a traditional physical server. With the release of version 10.7 (Lion), Mac OS Server became just an add-on software package intended for use on their standard products, like the iMac or Mac Mini. This software includes the server-specific applications and work group administration tools from the prior Mac OS X Server software.
